Dr. Kenya Batts

Dr. Kenya Batts, Principal

It is my great pleasure and privilege to serve as the principal of AM Davis Elementary since 2016. I have been an educator since 1997 and joined Chesterfield County in 2001. I’ve taught grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) in Elementary Education. I went on to receive my Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Educational Leadership. In 2021, I earned my Doctorate from Virginia Tech. My husband and I have two daughters who are both graduates of Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Education is important to me and it is equally important to me that EVERY child has many opportunities to experience success. My work with students, parents, teachers, and staff is rooted in this belief. Davis is a wonderful family where we all take great pride in our community. We celebrate our diversity and ROAR with pride in our growth and successes. Like our Davis Creed says, “We are a dedicated, diverse family committed to excellence in our school and community. We are Respectful, Organized, have a positive Attitude, and take Responsibility for ourselves and others. We are #dedicateddavisdragons.”

We welcome your partnership in our journey to be the best Davis Dragons we can be in an environment where ALL students succeed.

Mrs. Raymonda Rhoades, Assistant Principal

Hello Davis Family,

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the assistant principal at AM Davis Elementary! I am honored to have been chosen for this opportunity.

I come to you with over 13 years of experience in education. My most recent position was that of an assistant principal. I served as an assistant principal for the past 3 years. I also have experience as a second grade teacher and department chair. I’ve also taught head start and have experience as a Children Services Director.

I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Liberty University, and James Madison University. At VCU I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. At Liberty I received a Masters of Art in Teaching. James Madison is where I received my endorsement in Administration/Supervision.

My husband and I have two wonderful children. We enjoy family game nights and spending quality time together. Some of my hobbies are reading, listening to music and dancing.

Student success, safety and building positive relationships with the Davis community are all priorities for me. I am excited and eager to be part of the Dragon Family!
